Overview:
Tufts Nutrition seeks to inspire students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. As the only graduate school of nutrition in the country, the Friedman School’s surprising range of programs makes it a ripe resource for inspirational stories. Here, students can specialize in the hard science of cell and molecular nutrition, spending much of their time in the laboratory. Or they can spend their time on a farm, supporting sustainable agriculture. Some come here specifically to become registered dieticians who will work directly with patients, while others plan to travel to developing countries where they will dedicate themselves to humanitarian action in famines, complex emergencies and other disasters.
Because the school’s programs are so diverse, the magazine becomes a way to introduce students, alumni and even faculty to facets of the curriculum that they may not know. Over the course of the year, the magazine strives for a balanced representation of the various programs, to promote mutual respect, camaraderie and encourage cross-collaboration. In recent years, the magazine has worked to tie together the innovative research on the science side and initiatives on the policy side through articles that span many departments.
Overall, the magazine promotes the Friedman School people who have helped give Tufts University a reputation for internationalism, active citizenship and life science education.
The magazine is sent to alumni, parents of current students, faculty, staff and friends.

The magazine has a press run of 7,000 and is published twice a year.
