The following are guidelines for streaming media file delivery and formatting. They may be shared with anyone who will be producing or preparing media files for streaming.
General information:
- To avoid potential artifacts, avoid very high bitrates for video -- for example, a 320x240 video at 512 or 768 kbps looks better that a 640x480 video at a lower Bitrate. Generally, try to stay within 350 – 512 kbps / 320x240 for daily use.
- Avoid using the rmvb extension. It may cause problems without the correct player.
- Give the files the exact names you'd like to appear in the URL. Avoid spaces in file names.
